TD Canada Trust and Invest in KidsInvest in Kids is immensely thankful for the support that TD Canada Trust Bank has provided us over the years. The relationship between Invest in Kids and TD Canada Trust has a lengthy history behind it. We first formed a partnership back in 1997 when what was formerly know as the Toronto Dominion Bank donated a significant amount of money to our Invest in Kids Day. TD continued donating over the next two years, raising the $1.9 million that supported Invest in Kids in many ways. The money provided opportunities to reach millions of Canadians through our public awareness campaign. Through that support, we got to know parents and their needs and concerns better by helping fund The Great Canadian Parenting Poll in 1999. It also provided resources for us to hand out to parents, such as our Comfort, Play & Teach materials. It helped fund the design and delivery of programs for professionals. And it gave us a cutting edge model of prevention/early intervention services for children most at risk in Toronto, Montreal, Dartmouth/Cape Breton. And TD’s commitment only continued from there: in 1998, TD first hosted our Battle of the Brains fundraising event, and continued to do so for the next seven years. In 2001-2002, it acted as the title sponsor of the event, and donated $200,000 over those two years. From 2003-2004, it sponsored the Battle of the Brains for a total of $90,000. And in 2005-2006, it purchased several corporate tables. In total, TD’s generous giving has amounted to approximately $2.3 million for our charity. Invest in Kids is also honoured to have Martine Irman, Vice-Chair of Global Directors for TD Securities, dedicate her time by sitting on our Board of Directors. And the giving continues: today TD Canada Trust continues to support our campaign generously, allowing us to continue to reach parents across Canada with our programs.
