Dr. Richard Tremblay Among Canada’s Best
Dr. Richard Tremblay, Molson Foundation Fellow of the CIAR Human Development Program and Professor of Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Psychology at l’Université de Montréal, has been named by Time magazine among “Canada’s Best” in the field of Medicine. After the article was published, Dr. Tremblay stated: “I am truly honoured to have been chosen by Time magazine as one of ‘Canada's Best’ in the field of Medical Research. This is an important public statement that Early Childhood Development as a lifelong determinant of health and well-being is a key medical issue, as well as a vital issue in the Social Sciences. I don't believe that I would have been able to achieve this level of eminence in the field without my involvement in the CIAR Human Development Program, through which I have collaborated closely with many of the world’s most distinguished researchers on the relationship between social environment and the healthy development of children. I am also very excited about the potential of CIAR’s new Program in Experience-based Brain and Biological Development (EBBD), which should help us build on past findings by providing a better understanding of how genes and environment interact over time to inform brain development and human behaviour.”
